Himalaya.Net I redesigned the Web site for this Nepalese charitable organization and Internet service provider that makes computer education and educational resources available to children. New England Inhalant Abuse Prevention Coalition I helped ensure that the Web site for this organization's public awareness campaign was in compliance with federal and W3C guidelines for accessibility to all users. PUBLISHING CLIENTS McGraw-Hill / Irwin I help to develop educators' materials and teachers' supplements for additional technology textbooks in McGraw-Hill's Programming the Web series. In addition, I have provided technical editing for a Microsoft applications series, for textbooks on using Microsoft Word and Excel. Rolling Stone / Wenner Media Since early 2003, I have provided on-demand computer training to longtime contributors at Rolling Stone magazine. Ziff Davis Media Ziff Davis Media's Baseline magazine prides itself on its infographics and visual innovations in presenting technical and financial information. As a contributing editor at Baseline, I researched and designed technical infographics for the print magazine. For the publication's Web site, I built Javascript-based interactive tools and redesigned the site's information architecture. Media Dynamics, Inc. I serve as a Quark typesetter for Media Dynamics, a media, marketing and advertising consultancy. I design and lay out two annuals, TV Dimensions and Magazine Dimensions. Wall Street Content Always glad for a chance to put my Japanese into practice, I used Adobe Illustrator to lay out a Japanese translation of a corporate comic book for Wall Street Content on behalf of the end client, SunGard. I also designed and laid out a 256-page directory of financial exchanges around the world for SunGard, and have designed a variety of print- and Web-based marketing pieces for Wall Street Content and its clients. The Podcast of Clinical Neurology News and a second medical news podcast, I streamlined the team's editorial production and publication process with a single WordPress blog. I implemented plug-ins, provided extensive training and explanation of site statistics, and helped this novel podcasting organization get work much more efficiently. PAERS Ltd. For this engagement, I created multilingual, graphical buttons for a kiosk interface. I created 51 buttons for each of 13 languages: Arabic, Iraqi, Italian, Kurdish, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Tamil, Thai, and Urdu. Honeywell In a client engagement with Honeywell, I assisted in developing a strategy for redesigning and reorganizing intranet content, specifically for compensation and benefits information. I developed design templates, conducted a content audent, and produced training documentation and a communications plan. Sciex MDS Sciex builds mass spectrometers and develops instrument control software. I designed a series of icons for a new instrument control software application. PerkinElmer Biotechnology company PerkinElmer sought to migrate the user interface for one of its gas chromotography instruments from a keypad to a touch screen. I designed a series of related icons, produced graphic design prototypes for all screens, and developed all digital images for the touch screen, and continue to provide icon design work on an ongoing basis for new gas chromatograph interface updates. FINANCIAL/LEGAL/CONSULTING CLIENTS For Polaris Management Partners, a management consulting firm for the pharmaceutical industry, I redesigned their Web presence in an extremely short timeframe. I created new graphics based on PowerPoint charts, developed comprehensive stylesheets, and included a DTHML navigational structure for their clients engagement page. For NewJerseyEIFS.com, an attorney's Web site, I created text-based navigational rollovers that have graphical appeal, and enabled a contact form. In February 2006, I helped Claughton Capital relaunch this financial firm's site with new content and Web hosting. I produced new financial performance charts with graphics created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. In 2005, I designed a new site for M.M.Membrado.com, a boutique law firm that represents microcap and startup companies. I migrated the site from its previous Web hosting, developed new Web graphics and mouseover images, stylesheets, and includes. In 2006, I created all HTML pages for the Chinese-language version of the site, based on provided translations. SOFTWARE COMPANIES I created and rapidly implemented an initial marketing plan for netomat, a New York-based multimedia software company. Deliverables included content development and design for netomat's Web site, print media kit, and trade show exhibition materials. I created easy-to-understand documentation for prospects, subscribers, and users of software startup Creator Connection's new online collaborative groupware tool. SMALL BUSINESS CLIENTS For Fashion-fox.com, which uses WordPress, I customized the CSS for its Semiologic theme. I also created the new logo and designed a series of fashion-themed icons for use in posts. I designed galleries and a membership form for Wedding Planners Hawaii, a bridal industry business based in Hawaii. AccuScan Inc. I designed this Web site for this Florida-based medical imaging company providing high-quality ambulatory diagnostic ultrasound services to physicians in their offices and clinics. This project included logo development and CSS-only layout. iwannaquiznos.com I serve as the Webmaster for a San Diego-based Quizno's franchise, for whom I designed an ASPmail-based order form. I also created PDF versions of the menus, implemented a minimalist design for the site, created new e-mail addresses, and tested the form functionality extensively. SwissEternity.com is a bilingual English-Japanese site that I developed for two Swiss brothers as they launched their own company. I utilized Flash and animated GIFs, created Javascript popups and mouseovers, implemented a browser language detection script, and produced all English-, French-, and Japanese-language HTML pages. I provided the Flash animations and HTML production for hotel representative Yellin Hotels's Web site. I enjoy developing small business Web sites for entrepreneurs. I designed JF Designs Jewelry, a Web site featuring custom-designed beaded jewelry by Julie French. Another Web site makeover for a small business client: the New York-based Tri State Limo. I redesigned this limousine company's Web site, created all new HTML documents and developed new PHP scripts for online reservations and corporate applications. TrainWithDom.com and Studentfit.com are two small business Web sites that I developed for a personal trainer. I provided the graphical site design, all HTML production, installation support for ASP.NET scripting, and Cold Fusion updates.
